Man United on verge of completing first summer signing – report
Manchester United are close to completing a deal to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, say reports

Manchester United are close to completing a deal to make Fred their first signing of the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Manchester Evening News is reporting that the Red Devils are expecting to be able to complete a deal for the 25-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk star at the start of June as they begin their summer recruitment process.
The same story says that Manchester United are determined to complete as much of their transfer business as possible early on in the summer window.
According to the same article, Fred could finalise his move to Old Trafford next week when he travels to England for Brazil’s friendly clash against Croatia at Anfield stadium.
The article claims that Manchester United significantly stepped up their interest in Fred in the last month as they bid to bolster their midfield options following Michael Carrick’s retirement.
Manchester United ended the season without a trophy and in disappointing fashion as the Red Devils slipped to a 1-0 loss to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
Jose Mourinho will now be intent on bolstering his squad with the right players as he bids to lead the Red Devils to the Premier League title next season.
