Manchester United are set to rekindle their interest in Juventus star Blaise Matuidi in the summer, according to a report in England.
Italian outlet Rai Sport, as quoted by The Sun, is reporting that the Red Devils are ready to launch a fresh bid to sign the 30-year-old versatile midfielder.
The same article goes on to suggest that Manchester United hope to tempt the France international to Old Trafford to link up with compatriots Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial.
The 20-time English champions were linked with a move to sign Matuidi last summer but Juventus managed to beat the Premier League club to the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder.
According to the same story, Manchester United have spoken to Matuidi’s agent Mino Raiola about the experienced midfielder completing a potential move to Old Trafford.
Raiola already has three players at Manchester United after overseeing moves to the Theatre of Dreams for Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku.
Manchester United lost 2-1 to La Liga side Sevilla in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash on Tuesday night.
Mourinho’s midfield came in for particular criticism with Nemanja Matic, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba all struggling to perform.
