The former Manchester United striker is backing the Red Devils to ease to a victory over Stoke City on Monday night
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to win to nil against rudderless Stoke City at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The Red Devils will be looking to record successive Premier League games for the first time since 17 December following back-to-back victories over Bournemouth and West Brom.
Manchester United were 2-0 winners against Everton at Goodison Park last time out thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard.
The 20-time English champions booked their place in the FA Cup third round after Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku both got on the score sheet in a 2-0 victory over Derby County at Old Trafford.
Stoke sacked manager Mark Hughes last weekend following their FA Cup exit at the hands of Coventry City in the third round to seal the Welshman’s fate.
Manchester United will be taking on a Potters side that has lost their last three games in all competitions.
Former Red Devils striker Owen is backing Manchester United to ease to a comfortable win against Stoke at Old Trafford on Monday night.
“You have to go back to 1976 for the last time Stoke won at Old Trafford and it is hard to make a case for the managerless Potters given their current form,” Owen told BetVictor.
“I’ve been impressed by the development in Jesse Lingard’s game this season and his 11 goals and five assists make him something of an unsung hero at Old Trafford.
“Stoke fans can take heart from the fact that they have never lost an away league game on a Monday night – until now!”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge.
The Red Devils will take on La Liga outfit Sevilla in the Champions League last 16 next month.
