Rio Ferdinand reacts to new Man United signing
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand sends message to Aaron Wan-Bissaka after his summer transfer

Rio Ferdinand took to Instagram to back Manchester United’s signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Red Devils completed a much-anticipated deal for the 21-year-old after Manchester United reached a reported £50m agreement with Crystal Palace for the English full-back.
Wan-Bissaka has signed a five-year contract with the 20-time English champions after the right-back impressed with three assists in 35 games for Palace last term.
The 21-year-old will be tasked with improving the Manchester United backline after the Red Devils conceded 54 goals in 38 games in the Premier League last term.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand praised the recruitment of Wan-Bissaka before the BT Sport pundit offered some words of advice to the new signing.
“Now the hard work starts for this young English talent,” Ferdinand wrote on his Instagram page.
“That is the mindset I hope he has… I’m here to learn how to improve in all areas and to become a success at this great club.
“He has all the natural ingredients you’d want in a modern day full back – pace, takes the ball, can defend 1v1, can tackle….all a great base to start with from a coach’s point of view.
“It’s how he develops that will be key, identifying areas that need that extra attention which is so important in his development and that’s where he will need help from the coaches at the club.”
Ferdinand continued: “I had that in abundance with Carlos Queiroz and Rene Meulensteen who always had pointers for me to work on, on the training ground.
“But most importantly YOU as a player need to want to learn and improve….and on that point, from what people have said who know him – he wants to improve and work on his game.
“Talented, young, English & importantly hungry – great place to start. He has earned this opportunity and I wish him all the luck in the world on this new journey.”
Wan-Bissaka is the second arrival at Old Trafford this summer after Manchester United signed Wales international Daniel James in a £15m deal from Championship side Swansea City last month.
Solskjaer has been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window so far as the Norwegian coach looks to overhaul the Red Devils outfit.
Manchester United sacked Jose Mourinho back in December and appointed Solskjaer as their temporary manager.
However, his initial success led Manchester United to make the former striker their permanent manager at the end of March.
