Manchester United will need to cough up a huge transfer fee to sign Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to a report in England.

The Manchester Evening News, as quoted by the Daily Star, is reporting that the Brazil international is a target for the Red Devils in the current transfer window.

The same article states that Manchester United want to sign a top defender to improve their options at left-back ahead of the 2018-19 Premier League campaign.

According to the same story, the Red Devils will need to make an offer in the region of £60m to have a chance of securing Sandro’s signature this summer.

The Daily Star go on to claim that Chelsea FC failed to sign Sandro last summer due to their refusal to match Juve’s demands for the Brazilian full-back.

Sandro scored four goals and made four assists in 26 appearances in Serie A last season to help the Turin side win a seventh straight Italian top flight title.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson was still in charge of the Red Devils.

The 20-time English champions finished 19 points adrift of Premier League champions Manchester City last term.
