Rio Ferdinand reacts to Man United signing Alexis Sanchez
Rio Ferdinand explains why Alexis Sanchez will fit in well at Manchester United
Rio Ferdinand believes that Alexis Sanchez is well-suited to Manchester United.
The 29-year-old Chile striker is set to link up with Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils squad they closed in on a deal with Arsenal, which includes Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the opposite direction.
Sanchez was at Carrington on Sunday and the move is expected to be announced on Monday or Tuesday this week, according to BBC Sport reporter David Ornstein.
Sanchez is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents and has earned plenty of praise for his performances since his move to Arsenal from Barcelona back in the summer of 2014.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand seems to think that Sanchez will be well suited to life at Old Trafford.
Speaking on BT Sport Premier League Tonight on Saturday, Ferdinand said: “Manchester United have got the best part of that deal.
“He brings goals, intensity, a winning mentality. He is always out there, always wants the ball.
“He loves the responsibility of being a top player in a team – just what Manchester United need.”
Manchester United made it back to back wins in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon when they sealed a 1-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The win left Mourinho’s men in second place in the Premier League table and still 12 points behind leaders Manchester City after 24 games this season.
The Red Devils, who finished sixth in the top flight last term in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford, now switch their attentions back towards the FA Cup and their fourth-round clash with Yeovil Town on Friday night.
