Manchester United are in the race with Juventus to sign Benfica defender Ruben Dias this summer, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

Portuguese outlet Record, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, is reporting that the Red Devils are keen to try and bring the 21-year-old to Old Trafford this summer.

However, the same story says that the Premier League outfit are facing a battle with Juventus to be able to sign the defender this summer.

According to the same article, Juventus are currently winning the race to sign Dias as things stand.

Dias has been in fine form for Benfica this season and has scored three goals and made one assist in 30 League appearances for his team. He also scored once and made an assist in the Europa League.

The same article says that Dias is contracted to Benfica until June 2023, with the defender having signed a contract at the start of this season. It is also claimed that he is valued at around €60m.

Manchester United will likely be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepares for his first full season in charge of the club.

The Red Devils travel to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League on Sunday.
