Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Ed Woodward to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to a report
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has asked the Manchester United board to sign Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes, according to a report in England.
Portuguese publication Correio da Manha, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Red Devils boss is eager to add the Portugal international to his squad this summer.
The same article states that Fernandes is one of Solskjaer’s top targets in the summer transfer window as the Red Devils boss looks to improve his squad ahead of the new season.
According to the same story, Manchester United are refusing to meet Sporting Lisbon’s £50m valuation of the attacking midfielder.
The report goes on to add that Solskjaer has been unable to convince the Manchester United board that they should dig deep to sign Fernandes.
The Daily Mirror claims that Manchester United are willing to spend £30m on Fernandes but the 20-time English champions don’t want to go to £50m.
Manchester United have already signed Swansea City midfielder Daniel James and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window so far.
The Reds Devils have largely been linked with young British talent this summer as Solskjaer targets a specific type of player.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
