Pundit makes prediction about Man United and Chelsea next season
Steve Nicol says Manchester United will be able to challenge Chelsea for the title next season

Steve Nicol is backing Manchester United to challenge Chelsea for the Premier League title next season – but says the Blues are still the favourites to retain their crown.
The Red Devils have already kicked off their summer spending by securing the transfer of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof this summer and Jose Mourinho is thought to be on the hunt for a number of attacking players, too.
Manchester United have been linked with moves for both Harry Kane and Alvaro Morata in recent days.
And former Liverpool star Nicol reckons that Manchester United will be on course to push Chelsea for the title as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Nicol told ESPN FC: “I think it (signing Kane and Morata) would put them (United) in that bracket.
“What was Manchester United’s biggest problem last season? Finishing teams off, not putting the ball in the net.
“Guess what Harry Kane does, guess what Morata does…
“[They’ll be] one of [the favourites]. Obviously Chelsea are the favourites.”
Manchester United endured something of a disappointing season in the Premier League under Mourinho last season as they ended up sixth in the table.
Chelsea, meanwhile, enjoyed a brilliant debut campaign under new boss Antonio Conte as they won the title in the Italian manager’s first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
