Man United could lose David De Gea on free transfer to PSG – report
Man United could lose David De Gea to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer next summer, according to a report
Paris Saint-Germain are planning a bid to sign Manchester United number one David De Gea on a free transfer next summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Express is reporting that Manchester United are refusing to meet De Gea’s wage demands, which are thought to be an eye-watering £400,000-a-week.
The same article states that PSG are planning to convince De Gea to reject any new deal and sign a pre-contract agreement with the Ligue 1 champions in January.
According to the same story, Spain international De Gea is set to become a free agent next summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal with Manchester United.
De Gea endured one of his most difficult seasons since his move to Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in the 2011 summer transfer window.
The Spanish shot-stopper made a number of high-profile mistakes in the final months of the season, including errors against FC Barcelona and Chelsea FC.
De Gea could only manage to keep seven clean sheets in the Premier League this term, in comparison to Liverpool FC number one Alisson Becker, who finished with 21 shut-outs.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table to miss out on Champions League football for the fourth time in six seasons.
