Man United offer David De Gea a new contract in the hope the goalkeeper will finally commit to the club, according to a report
Manchester United have made a final contract offer to David De Gea, according to a report in England.
The Daily Star is reporting that the Red Devils are running out of patience with the Spain international after a lengthy negotiating process.
The same article states that Manchester United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward is ready to make De Gea the best-paid goalkeeper in the world.
According to the same story, De Gea would be set to pocket £85m over the course of the deal if the 28-year-old decides to put pen to paper on a new contract.
The Daily Star go on to say that Manchester United are hoping that their proposed deal will be sufficient to convince De Gea to turn down Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
The report adds that the 20-time English champions have made it clear to De Gea and his representatives that their offer want be improved upon.
Manchester United signed De Gea in a £17m deal from Spanish side Atletico Madrid in the 2011 summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have won the Premier League once since De Gea replaced Edwin van der Sar as the club’s number one goalkeeper.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term to miss out on a Champions League spot.
