Duncan Castles claims Man United want to ‘rapidly’ sign 19-year-old
Reporter Duncan Castles believes Manchester United are desperate to sign FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot

Duncan Castles has claimed that Manchester United are desperate to complete a swift deal to sign FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot.
Manchester United are rumoured to be closing in on a £17.5m deal to sign the Portuguese full-back in the 2018 summer transfer window.
Dalot has made eight appearances for the FC Porto senior team since progressing through the ranks after joining the Portuguese outfit in 2008.
The 19-year-old featured in FC Porto’s 5-0 aggregate loss to Premier League side Liverpool FC in the Champions League round of 16 last season.
Dalot is predominantly a right-back but the teenager played a number of games at left-back, which would suit Jose Mourinho given Luke Shaw’s disappointing form.
The FC Porto starlet is reported to have a contract release clause of £17.5m despite his relative lack of experience at the top level.
Manchester United are heading interest in Dalot but the FC Porto star is thought to be attracting attention from a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Reporter Castles confirmed that Manchester United are eager to sort out a deal as fast as possible.
“Man United have been working on this deal for quite a while,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast. “They have an outline of a deal.
“The price is 20 million euros (£17.5million). Relatively cheap considering the potential of the player. There is interest from other clubs. There is a sense Man United want to tie him down rapidly.”
Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley following Eden Hazard’s first-half winner from the penalty spot.
