Portuguese reporter Sergio Krithinas sheds light on Manchester United target Diogo Dalot
Manchester United target Diogo Dalot is among the best teenagers in Portuguese football, according to reporter Sergio Krithinas.
The Red Devils are thought to be on the brink of completing a deal to sign the 19-year-old from Portuguese side FC Porto in the current transfer window.
Dalot is predominatly a right-back but the teenager has been used at left-back in the 2017-18 season to underline his versatility.
The Portuguese talent has made eight appearances in all competitions for the 2004 Champions League winners since impressing with FC Porto’s B side.
Dalot even featured in FC Porto’s disappointing 5-0 aggregate loss to Liverpool FC in the Champions League knockout stage last term.
Jose Mourinho is in the market to strengthen his options at full-back and had been previously linked with a move to sign Alex Sandro and Danny Rose.
At 19, Dalot will be an understudy to Ecuador international Antonio Valencia next term as the South American edges towards the end of his career.
Reporter Krithinas claimed that Dalos is one of the best talents in Portuguese football ahead of a potential move to Manchester United.
“He is one of the most talented players that we have in Portugal,” Krithinas told the Transfer Window podcast. “He is among the two or three best players in Portugal of his age.”
