Manchester United are closing in on the signing of FC Porto right-back Diogo Dalot, according to reports in the British media.
BBC Sport is reporting that the Red Devils are poised to tie up a deal to sign the 19-year-old as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in some competition for Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford.
The same story says that the teenager has a release clause of around £17.4m in his contract with the Portuguese side, but the Red Devils are not thought to have activated it yet.
According to the same story, Manchester United have been in contact with FC Porto in recent days and it seems now to only be a matter of time until a deal is concluded.
The teenage defender only made his senior debut for FC Porto in October of last year.
Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer as Mourinho looks to build a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils ended up in second place in the Premier League title this season as they missed out on a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
