Manchester United are ready to make a move to sign FC Porto defender Eder Militao, according to a report in Scotland.
The Daily Record is reporting that the Red Devils have placed Militao on a list of potential defensive signings to improve the Manchester United team.
The same article states that Manchester United view the 20-year-old as a potential signing that could develop into a world class player at Old Trafford.
According to the same story, Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Manchester City and Everton have also shown an interest in the Brazilian centre-half.
The Daily Record goes on to suggest that Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly would be Jose Mourinho’s preferred choice, but the Manchester United manager is prepared to look at more inexperienced options.
The Porto starlet has made eight appearances in the Portuguese top flight this season, while Militao has started all four of their Champions League group-stage fixtures.
The Portuguese giants signed the South American from Brazilian club Sao Paulo in the 2018 summer transfer window and he has wasted no time having an impact on the 2004 Champions League winners.
Manchester United qualified for the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday night thanks to a 1-0 win over Young Boys following Marouane Fellaini’s injury-time goal.
The Red Devils will take on Southampton at St Mary’s next weekend.
