Rio Ferdinand sends direct message to Ed Woodward about Man United transfers
The Manchester United legend sends a message to the club's chief executive Ed Woodward ahead of deadline day

Rio Ferdinand has urged Ed Woodward to keep Paul Pogba at Manchester United, while the retired defender wants the Red Devils to sign Toby Alderweireld.
The 20-time English champions have been contending with speculation surrounding their club record signing is being linked with a potential move before the close of the summer transfer window.
It has been well documented in the British media that Pogba and Mourinho have shared a complicated working relationship since his move to Manchester United from Serie A giants Juventus.
FC Barcelona have been linked with a swoop to sign Pogba following Andres Iniesta’s exit this summer, while Juve are thought to be keen on a deal to re-sign the France star.
Manchester United have signed FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot, Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred and Stoke goalkeeper Lee Grant in the summer transfer window, however the Red Devils haven’t signed a centre-half.
Alderweireld has been linked with a move to Manchester United but Tottenham Hotspur haven’t shown a willingness to sell the Belgium international in the summer transfer window so far.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand sent a direct message to the club’s chief executive Ed Woodward ahead of Thursday’s 17:00 BST transfer deadline.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: “Don’t you dare allow this ED… #MUFC is Pogba’s home!! Silence these rumours ASAP & get @AlderweireldTob through the door 🤣👍🏻”
