Manchester United have offered former Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente a two-year contract, according to a report in Italy.
Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are eager to sign the experienced Spain international.
The same article states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to bolster his squad after Romelu Lukaku moved to Serie A giants Inter Milan earlier this month after the Belgian’s unhappy two-season spell at Old Trafford.
According to the same story, the 20-time English champions have spoken to Llorente about potentially linking up with the Red Devils.
The report goes on to add that Manchester United have offered Llorente a two-year deal but the Red Devils face competition from Serie A duo Lazio and Napoli.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford have both scored two goals in the Premier League this season.
Solskjaer signed Swansea City winger Daniel James, Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Leicester City defender Harry Maguire in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils – who are aiming for a top-four finish this season – will return to Premier League action next weekend when they take on Southampton away from home on Saturday lunchtime.
