Man United consider move to sign 34-year-old striker – report
Man United are considering a move for free agent Fernando Llorente this summer, say reports

Manchester United are considering a surprise move to sign Fernando Llorente before Thursday’s transfer deadline, according to reports in Italy.
Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are pondering a move to bring the 34-year-old forward to Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add more firepower to his squad.
Because Llorente is a free agent, it means that he can be signed at any point during the season, including outside of the current transfer window.
That means that Manchester United could move to bring in the former Tottenham striker after the summer transfer deadline if they deem themselves to be short on strikers, according to the same story.
The article says that the potential arrival of Llorente means that they will have another option up their sleeve if Romelu Lukaku’s move away from Old Trafford does not happen before Thursday’s deadline.
Llorente scored 13 goals in 66 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur but he was deemed surplus to requirements and was released this summer.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will make any new signings before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The Red Devils will host Chelsea FC at Old Trafford in their Premier League opener on Sunday afternoon.
