Fred is set to travel to London to put pen to paper on a five-year deal at Manchester United’s office in the English capital, according to a report in Brazil.

Brazil media outlet Globo Esporte, as quoted by Sport Witness, is reporting that Fred and his representatives are ready to sign a long-term deal with the 20-time English champions.

The same article states that Fred had his medical at Carrington training ground after he helped Brazil to ease to a 2-0 win over Croatia in their friendly at Anfield on Sunday.

According to the same story, Fred and his agents were impressed with Manchester United’s facilities and the 25-year-old is ready to agree to a move to the Red Devils.

However, Globo Esporte expect the summer target to pen a deal with Manchester United in the club’s London office having travelled to the English capital.

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their options in the middle of the park after Michael Carrick announced his retirement at the end of the campaign.

The Red Devils could lose Belgium international Marouane Fellaini on a free transfer this summer after the holding midfielder failed to sign a contract extension.

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
