Dharmesh Sheth says Man United are close to being able to confirm a deal to sign Fred from Shakhtar Donestsk
Manchester United have an 80 per cent chance of signing Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 25-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to significantly bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Manchester United missed out on a trophy last term as they ended up second in the Premier League and lost the FA Cup final 1-0 to Chelsea FC.
Fred has been strongly touted as a target for the Red Devils as Manchester United prepare for their summer recruitment drive.
And Sky Sports News reporter Sheth has now revealed that the Red Devils are looking to wrap up a deal for the midfielder in the coming days and weeks.
Asked to rate Manchester United’s chances of signing Fred this summer, Sheth told the Sky Sports Transfer Centre podcast: “80 per cent [chance].”
Manchester United will be looking to challenge for the Premier League title next season after they ended up in second place and 19 points behind Manchester City this term.
The Red Devils have not lifted the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2013.
