Machester United will have to spend £50m on Leicester City defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to Sky Sports News reporter Michael Bridge.
Manchester United have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the World Cup star in the current transfer window.
The Red Devils are rumoured to be in the market to improve their centre-half options under Portuguese head coach Jose Mourinho.
The Red Devils boss has Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof at his disposal but the quartet have’t impressed.
Maguire was a revelation at the World Cup as the Leicester star helped England to reach the semi-finals.
Sky Sports News reporter Bridge believes the Red Devils will have to cough up a £50m transfer fee to secure the signing of Maguire.
“Leicester want £50m for Maguire after his performances at the World Cup.” Bridge told the Transfer Talk podcast.
Manchester United have signed Brazil star Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk to improve their options in the middle of the park.
The Red Devils have also signed Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot in a £17m deal from FC Porto earlier this summer.
Manchester United in a £1.5m deal from veteran England goalkeeper Lee Grant from relegated Stoke City earlier this month.
