Manchester United have not been put off by Leicester City’s asking price for Harry Maguire this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Red Devils are keen on a move to bring the England defender to Old Trafford this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his back-line.
According to the same story, Manchester United will move ahead with their bid to try and sign Maguire, despite Leicester City having placed a £90m valuation on the central defender.
The £90m price tag is considered to be too much by Red Devils chiefs, but that has not put off Manchester United in their pursuit of the 26-year-old, according to the same story.
According to the same article, Solskjaer is keen to bring in a “top class” central defender this summer as he look to improve the Manchester United rearguard.
Signing a new centre-half is thought to be one of Solskjaer’s priorities, as well as bringing in a new right-back, says the same article.
Despite Leicester City’s huge asking price, Manchester United are said to be hoping to strike a deal for less than £80m if possible.
Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League and without a trophy last season.
