Man City to match Man United’s bid for Premier League defender – report
Man City are ready to rival Man United for the signing of Harry Maguire this summer, according to a report

Manchester City are ready to match Manchester United’s £70m bid for Leicester City defender Harry Maguire this summer, according to a report in England.
Sky Sports is reporting that the Red Devils looked to steal a march on the Premier League champions after Manchester United made an opening offer for the Englishman.
The same article states that Manchester United increased their initial offer of £65m by £5m in the hope of tempting Leicester into a potential summer deal for Maguire.
According to the same story, Manchester City are now ready to match Manchester United’s bid but Leicester are unlikely to sell Maguire for less than the £75m fee that Liverpool FC paid for Virgil van Dijk in 2018.
Leicester signed Maguire in a £15m deal from Hull City in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Maguire has scored five goals in 75 games in all competitions over the past two seasons.
The Red Devils target has also netted once in 20 appearances in the England national team.
Manchester United have already signed Wales international Daniel James in a £15m deal from Championship side Swansea City last month.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bolstered his defensive options with the addition of Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal from Crystal Palace last weekend.
Manchester United finished in sixth place last term.
