Leicester City will sanction Harry Maguire’s move to Manchester United as long as the Foxes receive a world-record fee for the defender, according to a report in England.
The Telegraph is reporting that Leicester are prepared to lose their prized asset in the summer but the Foxes are determined to get maximum value for the centre-half.
The same article states that Maguire has already informed Brendan Rodgers that he wants to move to Manchester United or Manchester City before the start of the new season.
According to the same story, the former Hull City defender won’t hand in a transfer request and has reassured Rodgers that he’ll remain professional if the Manchester clubs fail to meet his price tag.
The Telegraph reveals that Manchester United are hesitant to pay the same £75m fee that Liverpool FC spent on Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk around 18 months ago.
The report goes on to state that Manchester United and Leicester aren’t close to finding a compromise as the Foxes look to secure a transfer fee in the region of £80m and £90m.
Manchester United have already signed Swansea City midfielder Daniel James and Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window so far.
