Manchester United have offered to include England defender Phil Jones as part of a deal to sign West Ham United’s Issa Diop, according to a report in England.
The Sun is reporting that Jones faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the 27-year-old was offered to West Ham.
The same article states that the Hammers turned down the offer for Diop as West Ham have no interest in recruiting the England defender this summer.
The Sun claim that Manchester United have submitted a £45m bid plus Jones – but West Ham are eager to keep hold of Diop beyond the transfer window.
According to the same story, Solskjaer would be willing to sell Jones ahead of the new Premier League season to fund his revamp of his Red Devils squad.
Diop has been a big hit in the Premier League under West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini this term.
The Hammers signed the France Under-21 international in a club record £22m deal from Ligue 1 side Toulouse last summer.
Diop endured a difficult start to his West Ham career after the Frenchman netted an own goal on his Premier League debut in a 3-1 loss to Arsenal at The Emirates.
The West Ham star finished the season with two goals in 38 games in all competitions.
