Journalist claims Man United have missed best chance to sign 29-year-old
Manchester United missed their chance to sign Ivan Perisic last summer, according to Mark Ogden

Manchester United may have missed their chance to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, ESPN FC reporter Mark Ogden has claimed.
The Croatia international was close to a move to the Red Devils last season but Manchester United couldn’t agree a fee with Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old has been linked with a switch to Manchester United this summer, but the speculation hasn’t been as intensive.
Jose Mourinho’s interest in Perisic could be piqued by his performances at the World Cup after Croatia reached the final.
Perisic scored Croatia’s equaliser in a 2-1 extra-time win over England to set up a final meeting with France in Moscow.
ESPN FC reporter Ogden suggested that Manchester United’s best chance to sign Perisic was in last summer’s transfer window.
“He would try and get someone like Perisic. He is last year’s big mistake,” Ogden told ESPN FC.
“They should have pushed harder to get him into the squad.”
Perisic has scored 29 times in 107 league games over the past three seasons at Serie A giants Inter Milan.
The Croatian winger has previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Wolfsburg and Club Brugge.
Manchester United have signed Lee Grant, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred and FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot in the summer transfer window so far.
