Man United quoted £60m for Premier League playmaker – report
Man United are interested in a potential deal to sign Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, according to a report in Scotland
Manchester United will have to pay £60m to sign Leicester City playmaker James Maddison in the summer transfer window, according to a report in Scotland.
The Daily Record is reporting that Manchester United are interested in a deal to sign the Leicester midfielder to bolster their attacking options in midfield.
The same article states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might have a difficult time convincing the 22-year-old to move to Old Trafford due to the lack of Champions League football.
According to the same story, Maddison is unsure about how much first-team football he’ll get at the 20-time English champions should the England star complete a move to Man United.
The Daily Record adds that Leicester have placed a £60m price tag on Maddison’s head ahead of the summer transfer window opening next month.
Understandably, Maddison would want to be assured of first-team minutes following an impressive breakthrough season in the Premier League.
The Leicester playmaker scored seven goals and made seven assists in 36 games in the Premier League to help the Foxes finish in the top half of the table.
The Foxes signed Maddison in a £25m deal from Norwich City in the 2018 summer transfer window following his eye-catching displays for the Canaries.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term.
