Manchester United have set their sights on signing Leicester City midfielder James Maddison in the January transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign Maddison to continue his reshaping of the Red Devils team.
The same article states that Solskjaer is confident that Maddison would fit into his plans for Manchester United as a young and energetic British talent.
According to the same story, Manchester United would have pay in the region of £80m for the England international in the January transfer window.
The Daily Mirror go on to add that Leicester will look to keep hold of the former Norwich City midfielder given that Maddison has been at the King Power Stadium for little over 12 months.
Maddison netted seven goals and created seven assists in his first season at Leicester.
Manchester United signed England defender Harry Maguire in an £80 deal from Leicester in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in their third Premier League game of the season.
Manchester United have only earned four points from their opening three Premier League fixtures so far.
