Man United offered chance to sign 25-year-old Real Madrid star – report
Manchester United were among the clubs to have been offered the chance to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid, say reports

Manchester United were among the clubs to have been offered the chance to sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid this summer before he joined Bayern Munich on loan, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that both Manchester United and Chelsea were among the Premier League clubs who could have made a move to try and land the Colombia international this summer.
However, Rodriguez ended both Manchester United’s and Chelsea’s hopes of signing him this summer when he agreed a two-year loan move to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
The Colombian has agreed a temporary move to Bayern Munich to link up with Carlo Ancelotti’s side as he bids to hold down some regular playing time ahead of next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Super agent Jorge Mendes is said to have been “pushing” Rodriguez towards Manchester United this summer as Jose Mourinho gears up for his second season in charge at the club.
However, the story also claims that relations between Real Madrid and Manchester United are not at their best after the Red Devils pulled out of the race to sign Alvaro Morata.
