Sir Alex Ferguson wants Man United to sign 24-year-old – report
Sir Alex Ferguson wants Manchester United to sign Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, according to a report

Sir Alex Ferguson has told Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to sign Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, according to a report in England.
The Sun, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the former Red Devils boss has told Solskjaer that McGinn would be the perfection addition to the Manchester United team in the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Ferguson is friends with McGinn’s grandfather and the Scot’s intervention could be enough to get Manchester United to sign the Villa star.
According to the same story, Manchester United could have to cough up £50m to sign McGinn from the Championship side after Aston Villa slapped on a big asking price.
The Sun adds that Manchester United are continuing to consult with Ferguson over potential summer deals as Solskjaer looks to revamp his squad ahead of the new season.
Manchester United have already signed Swansea City midfielder Daniel James and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term after a poor end to the 2018-19 season.
Manchester United ended their second successive campaign without a trophy as the club continues to toil.
Solskjaer’s side will start the new season with a home clash against Chelsea FC on Sunday 11 August.
