Man United are reluctant to meet Napoli's valuation of their defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to a report
Manchester United are considering a move for Harry Maguire or Milan Skriniar as alternatives to Kalidou Koulibaly, according to a report in England.
The Independent is reporting that the Red Devils are reluctant to meet Napoli’s asking price for the Senegal international in the 2019 summer transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United have been scared off by Koulibaly’s £90m price tag and the Premier League club are looking at alternatives.
According to the same story, the 20-time English champions would rather sign Leicester defender Maguire and Inter Milan centre-half Skiniar.
The Independent report goes on to suggest that Manchester United could also rekindle their interest in Belgium international Toby Alderweireld.
Manchester United are looking to sign young defenders who have the experience and talent to slot into the team but have also scope to improve at Old Trafford.
Solskjaer’s side lost 2-0 to relegated Cardiff City in their final Premier League fixture of the season.
The Red Devils ended up conceding 54 times in 38 games in the English top flight to highlight their problems at the back.
Manchester United will compete in the Europa League next term after Solskjaer’s men finished in sixth place in the Premier League table.
The Norwegian head coach took over the reins from Jose Mourinho back in December last year.
