Man United offered the chance to sign 29-year-old midfielder – report
Man United were presented with the chance to sign Kevin Strootman on a season-long loan from AS Roma, according to a report
Manchester United are one of three Premier League clubs that have been offered the chance to sign Kevin Strootman on loan, according to a report in England.
Sky Sports is reporting that Marseille are offering the Netherlands international to a number of different Premier League teams ahead of the summer transfer window.
The same article states that the Ligue 1 side are desperate to cut costs and l’OM need to get Strootman off their wage bill following his £23m move to Marseille from AS Roma last summer.
According to the same story, the French outfit have presented Manchester United, Everton and West Ham with the chance to sign the injury-prone Netherlands international.
The Sky Sports report goes on to suggest that Manchester United are eager to sign homegrown players rather than foreign talents in the upcoming transfer window.
However, the media outlet do point out that Strootman has been a player that has regularly attracted interest from the 20-time English champions in the past.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table this season to miss out on Champions League football for next term.
The Red Devils ended the campaign without any silverware after Solskjaer took over the reins from Jose Mourinho back in December.
Solskjaer’s side lost 2-0 to relegated Cardiff City on the final day of the season.
