Man United want to make top 23-year-old their first January signing – report
Man United are ready to bid £27m to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid, according to reports

Manchester United are ready to make a move to sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid in a £27m deal in January, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Spanish outlet Don Balon, as quoted by the Daily Express, is claiming that the Red Devils are keen on signing the 23-year-old Real Madrid midfielder in the new year.
The same report says that the Red Devils are prepared to table a £27m deal for Kovacic as Jose Mourinho looks for his first signing of the January transfer window.
The story claims that Manchester United are confident that a fee in that region would be enough to tempt the Spanish club into selling the Croatian in the new year.
Kovacic hasn’t started a La Liga game for Real Madrid this season although that is in part down to his recent injury struggles.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United do indeed have concrete interest in signing the Croatia international.
One thing is for sure, the Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer.
Mourinho is currently preparing his Manchester United team for their Premier League trip to West Brom on Sunday afternoon.
