Man United hope £80m offer will secure second summer signing – report
Manchester United will offer £80m for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata in the hope of concluding a swift deal, according to reports
Manchester United are set to increase their offer to £80m for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata to get a deal over the line, according to reports in England.
The Gambling Times is reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to increase their offer as Jose Mourinho looks to finally sign the 24-year-old striker.
The same article states that Manchester United have so far offered £70m for the former Juventus man, which has fallen someway short of Real Madrid’s £90m asking price.
However, journalist Graeme Bailey claims that the Red Devils are eager to finalise a deal with Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at The Bernabeu up in the air and James Rodriguez set to leave the Spanish capital this summer.
Morata scored 15 times in 26 appearances in La Liga last season but spent most of the season as an impact player coming off the bench despite securing a return to his boyhood club from Juve last summer.
Manchester United have been left frustrated in their pursuit of a striker so far this summer, failing to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
