Manchester United are involved in a battle with AC Milan to sign Andrea Belotti this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttosport, as quoted by the Daily Mail, are reporting that Manchester United are embroiled in a “tug of war” with the Serie A giants to secure Belotti’s signature.
The same story suggests that his current club Torino won’t consider offers less than €70m (£60m) for the highly-rated Italian centre-forward.
However, Manchester United are thought to have an edge on Milan with their ability to spend a larger transfer fee on the 23-year-old striker in the summer window.
Belotti scored 26 times in 32 games in Serie A this season despite Torino failing to finish in the Champions League qualification spots in the Italian top flight.
The promising striker has three goals in eight appearances for the Italian national team after making his debut in a 3-1 loss to France in 2018 World Cup qualifying last year.
Manchester United won the Europa League last month to secure their place in next season’s Champions League competition.
