Man United warned 23-year-old could become ‘next Diego Forlan’
Steve Nicol has his reservations about Manchester United signing Torino striker Andrea Belotti

Steve Nicol has warned Manchester United that Andrea Belotti could end up being the ‘next Diego Forlan’.
The Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the 2017 summer transfer window.
Belotti has scored 26 times in 35 games in Serie A last season but Torino could only finish in ninth place.
The 23-year-old is reported to have a contract release clause in the region of £88m.
Belotti has naturally been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs following his breakthrough season in Serie A.
However, former Liverpool defender Nicol reminded Manchester United of Forlan’s struggles in the Premier League despite arriving at Old Trafford with a prolific reputation.
“My only question about Belotti is could he turn out to be a Forlan type,” Nicol told ESPN FC.
“There’s no pressure at Torino and score plenty of goals. He can enjoy himself.
“It’s a different ball game at Man United. That is where he might slip up if he goes to Man United.”
Forlan scored 30 goals in 54 games with Brazilian side Independiente in the two seasons before his move to Manchester United.
The Uruguay international, who finished as one of Atletico Madrid’s best-ever goal-scorers, netted just 10 times in 63 games in the Premier League.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013.
