Insider claims reported Man United target could be next David Silva
Terry Gibson talks up reported summer Manchester United transfer target Carlos Soler
Terry Gibson believes Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler has the ability to blossom emulate David Silva’s impact in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old has been linked with a potential move to Manchester United in recent months after an impressive season for los Che.
Soler scored three times in 15 appearances in La Liga to prompt talk of a potential move to Manchester United this summer.
The Spain Under-19 international would have the chance to link up with former Valencia midfielder Juan Mata at Old Trafford.
On the other side of Manchester, Silva has established himself as one of Manchester City’s best-ever players thanks to title wins in 2012 and 2014.
Former Chelsea striker Gibson talked up Soler’s quality amid talk of a potential switch to the Europa League winners.
“He’s going to be a fantastic player. He’s straight out of that mould of Spanish attacking midfield players,” Gibson told Sky Sports.
“We’ve been lucky in the Premier League to see David Silva in particular over the years, and Soler is not too dissimilar.
“He’s a magician on the ball, a young player who has integrated himself to become an important player at Valencia, and so quickly as well.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term following Jose Mourinho’s appointment last term.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in the Portuguese coach’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
