Gareth Bale replies to Man United transfer speculation
Gareth Bale insists he hasn't heard anything about the speculation linking him with a possible transfer to Manchester United
Gareth Bale has insisted that he is paying no attention to the speculation about his future after recent reports linking him with a possible summer transfer to Manchester United.
The Wales international has been touted as a possible transfer target for the Red Devils in recent weeks despite him having come off the bench to help Real Madrid win their 12th Champions League title on Saturday night.
Bale is widely regarded as one of world football’s top attacking talents and would surely command a huge transfer fee should Manchester United want to try and sign him this summer.
However, the 27-year-old insists that he isn’t thinking about the speculation and is purely focused on helping Real Madrid continue their success.
Speaking to BT Sport in Cardiff after Real Madrid’s Champions League final triumph, Bale said: “No [the rumours don’t affect me], I haven’t read anything to be honest, I don’t read anything so it doesn’t affect me at all.
“I prepared for the game like normal and as I said it’s been a difficult season, I understood the circumstances
“I was happy I got on and happy to play a part.
“What an incredible scene. The city has done an immaculate job in hosting a great event. To win this at home is a great feeling, it’s been a hard season, I’ve worked tirelessly to get fit and these are your rewards.
“We have made history, we’ll enjoy this moment now.. We needed confidence at half-time, and we had to take our chances which we did.”
Bale spent most of the season struggling with injuries after a frustrating campaign for the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
