Man United to increase offer for 28-year-old to secure top target – report
Manchester United are hoping a €45m (£38m) offer will be sufficient to sign Ivan Perisic this summer, according to reports
Manchester United will appease Jose Mourinho by increasing their offer to €45m (£39m) for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that Manchester United haven’t exceeded the €38m (£33m) mark in their attempts to complete a deal to sign the Croatia international from the Serie A giants.
The same article states that the Italian club are holding out for a transfer fee in the region of €50m (£43m) for the 28-year-old winger.
However, the Manchester United board are hoping that €45m (£39m) could be sufficient to convince Inter to sell a player that they signed from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg in a £16m deal just two seasons ago.
The Red Devils completed their first summer signing on Wednesday when Sweden international Victor Lindelof completed a £30.7m move to Manchester United from Portuguese champions Benfica.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season after a disappointing first campaign under Mourinho.
However, the Portuguese coach did win the EFL Cup and the Europa League to add two more trophies to his resume.
