Insider claims 25-year-old would be wonderful Chelsea, Man United signing
Terry Gibson talks up Real Madrid star James Rodriguez amid talk of a move to Chelsea and Manchester United this summer
James Rodriguez would be a wonderful signing for Chelsea or Manchester United this summer, according to Terry Gibson.
The Colombia international has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League after falling out-of-favour under Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid.
The Frenchman signalled that Rodriguez isn’t part of his future plans after the Madrid manager left the playmaker out of his squad for the Champions League final.
The 25-year-old scored eight goals and made six assists in 24 appearances in La Liga last season to help Real Madrid win the Spanish top-flight trophy.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with the Colombian midfielder since the 2016-17 Premier League season reached its conclusion last month.
Arsenal and Chelsea are also thought to be interested in the South American, who moved to Real Madrid in an £80m deal in 2014.
Speaking to Sky Sports about Rodriguez and a potential move to the Premier League this summer, former Chelsea and Real Sociedad striker Gibson said:
“I think he’d be a wonderful addition to the Premier League and would be more than capable of enhancing any of the teams that finished in the top six.
“He’s a lovely player, sensational footballer, and people would really enjoy watching James play on a weekly basis.”
