Top 22-year-old midfielder wanted Man United move in the summer
Leander Dendoncker admits he would be at Manchester United if the Red Devils really wanted the Anderlecht star

Leander Dendoncker has confirmed that he wanted to move to Manchester United in the summer.
The 22-year-old midfielder was linked with a potential move to the Red Devils at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Dendoncker scored in Anderlecht’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final back in March.
The defensive midfielder has made 13 appearances in all competitions in the 2017-18 season so far.
The Belgium international scored three goals in 22 appearances in the Belgian top flight and in the Europa League last term.
Manchester United were linked with a move to sign Dendoncker in the summer transfer window but the Red Devils ended up swooping for another defensive midfielder.
Indeed, Jose Mourinho signed Serbia international in a £40m deal from reigning Premier League champions Chelsea back in August.
Dendoncker opened up about speculation linking Manchester United with a move to Old Trafford.
“If it was as concrete as was being said, if they wanted me at all costs, I’d already be there,” Dendoncker told Sport/Foot.
“When you play for Anderlecht and you have the chance to go there, you don’t hesitate, but Anderlecht had their bit to say. Everyone had to agree.”
Manchester United signed Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in a £75m deal in the summer transfer window to improve their attacking options.
The Red Devils also signed Victor Lindelof in a £30m transfer from Portuguese club Benfica.
The 20-time English champions lost 2-1 to Huddersfield Town last weekend to see their unbeaten run come to an end.
