Manchester United have launched a £70m bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos, according to reports
Manchester United have submitted a €70m (£62m) offer to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos this summer, according to reports in the Brazilian media.
Globo Esporte is reporting that the Red Devils have submitted a huge offer to sign the Brazil international in the summer transfer window.
Marquinhos has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past but a deal for the South American has failed to materialise – so far.
Now, according to the Brazilian media outlet, Manchester United have launched a €70m (£62m) offer for the PSG defender despite signing a centre-half already this summer.
Sweden centre-half Victor Lindeof completed a reported £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions to Manchester United last week.
Jose Mourinho had to cope with a number of defensive crises in the 2016-17 season, which could go some way to explaining the Manchester United boss’ desire to reinforce his defensive options this summer.
The Red Devils could offload England internationals Phil Jones and Chris Smalling this summer to make space for another defensive recruit.
