Alan Shearer sends message to Man United fans about perfect signing
The Newcastle legend raises questions about Chelsea's decision to sell Nemanja Matic to Manchester United in the summer transfer window
Alan Shearer has described Nemanja Matic as the excellent addition to the Manchester United team.
The Serbia international moved to Manchester United in a £40m deal from Chelsea to reunite with Jose Mourinho.
Matic was a key part of Mourinho’s Chelsea side that the Premier League title and the EFL Cup crown in the 2014-15 season.

Chelsea have signed Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko in a £40m transfer despite the Frenchman’s long-running injury problems.
Former Newcastle United striker Shearer questioned why Chelsea decided to sell one of their key players to their direct title rival this summer.
“I know Matic is 29 and cost £40m, but he has got at least another two or three good years left in him, and he is exactly what United needed in midfield,” Shearer told BBC Sport.
“Having him in the team will give Paul Pogba more freedom to get forward and I am expecting to see an improvement from him.”
Matic moved to Chelsea in a £21m deal from Portuguese giants Benfica in 2014 for his second stint at the west London side.
The Chelsea defensive midfielder scored seven goals in 151 appearances in all competitions last season.
The experienced Serb star was Manchester United’s standout performer in a 2-1 loss to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Matic was one of three summer signings at Old Trafford after Manchester United signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
