Jose Mourinho sends message to Man United fans about Romelu Lukaku
The Manchester United manager is confident that Romelu Lukaku will be a good addition to the Red Devils side
Jose Mourinho has hailed Romelu Lukaku as a natural fit for Manchester United.
The Red Devils agreed a £75m deal to sign Lukaku from Premier League rivals Everton on Saturday before the Belgium striker agreed terms and passed a medical in Los Angeles.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a move to English champions Chelsea earlier this summer before Manchester United hijacked their rivals’ deal to sign Lukaku.
Mourinho has previously experience of working with Lukaku after the Portuguese coach had the striker in his ranks for three seasons at Stamford Bridge.
However, Lukaku was sent out on loan to West Brom and Everton before Mourinho sanctioned the sale of the Belgian forward to the Toffees in a £27m deal in 2014.
But Manchester United manager Mourinho is confident that Lukaku will prove a great addition to the Red Devils team.
“Romelu is a natural fit for Manchester United. He is a big personality and a big player,” Mourinho told the club’s website.
“It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at the biggest club.
“He will be a great addition to the group and I know they will make him very welcome. I am really looking forward to working with him again.”
Manchester United have signed two players in the summer transfer window after recruiting Sweden international Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in their first season under Mourinho in his debut campaign at Old Trafford.
