Man United launch bid to make top 24-year-old forward their second signing – report
Manchester United have made an official offer to sign striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, according to reports
Manchester United have tabled an official offer to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that the Red Devils have made their interest in the striker concrete by making a bid to bring the 24-year-old striker to Old Trafford this summer.
The same story claims that Real Madrid are hoping to be able to command a transfer fee of as much as £70m for Morata this summer, and that he is likely to cost upwards of £60m at the least.
The article also states that Morata himself is keen for a deal to be concluded as quickly as possible and ideally within the next two weeks.
Morata’s future has been a source of speculation in recent weeks because he only started 19 La Liga games under Zinedine Zidane last season.
Manchester United, who have already confirmed the signing of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica, are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer after the release of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and with Wayne Rooney’s future still looking unclear.
The Red Devils finished sixth in the Premier League and won the EFL Cup and Europa League in Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge at the club.
