Manchester United will turn their attentions towards signing Eric Dier from Tottenham after completing a deal to land Romelu Lukaku on Saturday, according to reports.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting that the Red Devils will now focus on trying to bring the 23-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford this summer after clinching a deal for Lukaku.
Manchester United confirmed on Saturday morning that they had agreed a fee with Everton for them to sign Belgian striker Lukaku.
The Red Devils have been linked with a bid to sign Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic but the same article claims that move is now not on the cards.
The report claims that instead, Manchester United will step up their efforts to try and make Tottenham midfielder Dier their third signing of the summer.
The same story claims that Manchester United have already had one bid for Dier rejected this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options at Old Trafford.
The article also claims that Chelsea midfielder Matic was only third on Manchester United’s list of possible candidates this summer, with Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Weigl another alternative.
Manchester United jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Sunday.
