Manchester United won’t offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new contract despite the striker training at the club’s Carrington facility, according to reports.

The Daily Star is reporting that the Red Devils won’t hand the 35-year-old a new deal even though Ibrahimovic is using the club’s facilities to boost his recovery from a serious knee injury.

The same article states that Ibrahimovic headed to United States to undergo surgery on his knee before returning to Manchester United despite being released earlier this summer.

Indeed, the 20-time English champions had the option to trigger a one-year contract extension but decided to allow the Manchester United striker to leave Old Trafford.

The 35-year-old centre-forward scored 28 times in all competitions last season to finish the 2016-17 season as Manchester United’s leading goal-scorer.

The Red Devils signed Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in a £75m deal at the weekend as Jose Mourinho bolstered his attacking options ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.

Manchester United recruited Victor Lindelof in a £30.7m deal from Portuguese champions Benfica last month.

Mourinho led the Red Devils to the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first season at Old Trafford.
