Marcus Rashford has welcomed suggestions that Manchester United could be set to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer.

The Red Devils were reported to have had a big-money bid for the Spain striker rejected by Real Madrid this week as Jose Mourinho goes about bolstering his attacking options at Old Trafford.

Morata’s potential arrival would signal increased competition for Rashford at Old Trafford but the teenager insists he would be happy to welcome a player of his quality to the club.

Asked about the reports linking Manchester United to Morata, Rashford told Sky Sports News HQ: “At a big club you are going to attract big players and that’s what we want.

“Anyone who can come in and help the club win trophies, which is the ultimate aim, they are the players we want to bring in. Good competition is important if you want to be successful.”

Manchester United are being linked with a number of different players this summer as the Red Devils look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
