Jose Mourinho drops hint about next Man United signing
Jose Mourinho is pessimistic about Man United's chances of signing Toby Alderweireld this summer

Jose Mourinho appears to be pessimistic about Manchester United’s chances of signing Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Tottenham defender to Old Trafford this summer as Mourinho looks to bolster his options at the back ahead of next season.
However, there has been no official mention of talks between the two clubs and the latest reports have suggested that Spurs’ asking price for the 29-year-old defender is too high.
Now, Mourinho has appeared to hint that the Red Devils will not be bringing in a new centre-half before the close of the summer transfer window next week.
Asked about the defenders likely to make up his back four at the start of next season, Mourinho told a news conference in Los Angeles: “Valencia, Smalling, Bailly and Shaw, they are probably the ones to start the season.”
Manchester United are believed to still be on the lookout for some new signings this summer as Mourinho prepares for his third season in charge at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils will be looking to at least challenge for the Premier League title next season after they ended up in second place and without a trophy last term.
