Gary Neville believes Manchester United need to sign three or four players in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table in their second campaign under Jose Mourinho’s management.

Manchester United ended up above Liverpool FC, Tottenham and Chelsea FC in the Premier League table.

However, Mourinho’s side were a long way behind Premier League champions Manchester City, 19 points to be exact.

Manchester United lost 1-0 to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final last weekend to miss out on the chance to win some silverware.

Mourinho is thought to be unhappy with his current Manchester United squad following an inconsistent season in England and in Europe.

Former Manchester United defender Neville believes the Red Devils will need to sign three or four players to improve their squad.

“They need three or four signings added to the squad,” Neville told his Sky Sports podcast.

“Players who know how to win and not to drop their standards.”

Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his 13th and final top-flight crown.

The Red Devils suffered a surprise 2-1 loss to La Liga side Sevilla in the Champions League round of 16 earlier this year.
